Full-Time Solo Pastor at Covenant CRC (Appleton, WI)

Covenant CRC inAppleton, Wisconsin, continues to seek a full-time solo pastor to join our mission to proclaim Christ in our community and the world. Our age- and ethnically-diverse congregation is comprised of regularly attending, committed members who are present and engaged in planning and celebrating worship and service to our church and community –including leading, building, and teaching in local and church ministries and committees. Our members come from a variety of denominational and church backgrounds as well as life-long CRC families. We have several vibrant internal discipleship ministries for adults and children and are excited about our primary outreach opportunities, including Covenant Friends (a neurodiverse ministry), men’s and women’s Bible studies, and our partnership with a Congolese congregation, with whom we share not just a worship space but new members of our church family. We seek a pastor who can guide our diverse flock to attract and enfold seekers and newcomers into a community of believers who care for each other and embrace the confessions and theology of the CRCNA to accomplish the mission God calls for us. We seek a shepherd who provides dynamic biblical preaching and prayerful leadership, inspires worship, nurtures faith formation, exemplifies pastoral witnessing, and yearns for Christ-centered community.

Appleton is the largest growing city in the greater Fox Cities, a thriving string of smaller cities, towns and villages built along the scenic and historical Fox River and Lake Winnebago, about two hours north of Milwaukee and just south of Green Bay. The area is not only home to breath-taking natural beauty, flourishing community-centered cultural events, places and restaurants, recreational/sporting accessibility, and educational opportunity, but also a variety of economically stable industries. Large employers include paper mills, insurance companies, healthcare providers and hospitals, technology services centers, educational institutions, and manufacturing. The Appleton area has excellent public schools (which allow open enrollment), private faith-based parochial K-12 schools, publicly funded charter schools, and an active homeschool community. Appleton offers opportunities for higher education and employment at Lawrence University (a liberal arts college), nearby campuses for the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh and Green Bay, and the Fox Valley Technical and Northeast Wisconsin Technical Colleges. Pastoral candidates may consider a wide array of residential options, from quiet, rural countryside to established city neighborhoods or modern riverfront condos, all within minutes of the church.
