Whether you have been a counselor for a dozen years, or if you have just agreed to become a counselor, know that you are not in this alone. There are many opportunities to improve your ministry work with the boys.

If you are a new counselor and there is an experienced counselor in your club, ask if he will help mentor you. Learn from him, share with him, and grow alongside him.

If your club is part of a council, watch for council meetings and training workshops. A Developer of Counselor Education (DCE) works in your area, making sure that the training you need is available.

Have a Saturday to spare? Many regions will have one day (or might include Friday evening) training conferences. Be uplifted in worship, meet fellow counselors, and take advantage of the many workshops offered, all in one day.

Call the Cadet office (616-241-5616 ext. 4), email [email protected], or check out the Corps website (www.counselors.calvinistcadets.org/education/overview/) to get more details of a training event near you. If we don’t know, we will help get you in touch with someone who does.
