A 5-Week Season of Creation Curriculum for Schools and Sunday Schools

Every year from September 1 through October 4, Christians and churches around the world unite for the Season of Creation—a dedicated time to rejoice in the Creator, give thanks for the earth, and renew our shared call to care for God’s world.

To help educators, Sunday school teachers, children’s ministry leaders, and homeschoolers guide young hearts during this season, we are excited to share a free, 5-week Season of Creation curriculum unit designed for children ages 4–10 (and easily adaptable for older or younger groups).

This Year’s Theme: Water (Ezekiel 47:9, 12)

The 2026 Season of Creation curriculum centers on the gift and necessity of water, rooted in Ezekiel’s vision of a life-giving river flowing from the temple:

“Where the water flows everything will live.” — Ezekiel 47:9

Water is essential for every living thing, but it is also a powerful biblical image of God’s renewal, cleansing, and grace. Jesus offers us living water, giving us hope and equipping us to be channels of His love, healing, and peace in a thirsty world.

Rather than overwhelming children with environmental crises, this curriculum grounds learning in biblical hope, joy, and practical care. Children learn that caring for creation is an act of worship and love.

Overview of the 5-Week Unit

Designed for flexibility in classroom or Sunday school settings, each week features a structured gathering routine: an opening check-in, a scripture-based prayer from Job 12:7–10, picture book story spots, interactive media, worship songs, hands-on activities, and a closing blessing.
