Observing Lent with kids can seem like a daunting proposition. We know it’s important to introduce our children to this season of spiritual preparation, but both the length of time and the nature of the spiritual practices involved can make Lent feel overwhelming.

The good news is that Lent doesn’t have to be difficult. The key is to be realistic about what you and your family can commit to. Forty days of strict fasting and intercessory prayer aren’t likely achievable goals, even for the most precocious of 10 year olds. But committing to doing something for Lent is important.

If you’re looking for an achievable, yet meaningful resource to help you navigate Lent with your children this year, Kids Corner has created a weekly family devotional to help you walk through Lent together.

Kids Corner’sPreparing for Easter” Family Lenten Devotional includes a Bible verse, short devotion, and family challenge for Ash Wednesday, each Sunday of Lent, Good Friday, and Easter. This resource will introduce you and your family to the meaning of Lent and invite you to learn more about spiritual practices like prayer, giving, confession, and forgiveness. For those that want to go deeper, you can listen to Kids Corner episodes that reinforce each of the devotionals’ weekly themes.

Kids Corner is a ministry of the CRCNA produced by ReFrame Media, the English language ministry of Back to God Ministries International. Join our community of loyal Kids Corner fans in preparing for Easter this year with this easy-to-use and purposeful Lenten resource!
