I love a good road trip. I pack up the car, grab a big cup of coffee from my local coffee shop, and hit the road. As the regional connector for Canada East I travel a fair bit attending classis meetings and visiting churches across half of Canada. I am always curious when I connect with churches as to what elements of their community I will find fit my expectations of a church within our denomination and what makes them unique as a congregation. How does the community they are in impact their church? What are the unique gifts of the individuals in the church that have helped to form and impact their church ethos? What vision does a church have for the next five years? These are just a few of the questions that lead to the individuality of each congregation that I visit. I love hearing each church’s individual history of how their identity has developed.
Over the next few months,Thrive connectors will be reaching out to churches across all of the CRCNA classes to learn more about what makes each church unique.
Specifically, we will be asking this question: “What is your church passionate about?”
We want to hear from you!
Our goal is to understand the unique ministry passions of each church within the denomination. This is an opportunity for your church to share what makes you unique or what God has been calling your church to do. Perhaps you are just starting to envision what God is calling you to, and we want to hear about that too!
When the connector reaches out to you, we encourage you to set 30 minutes aside to invest in this conversation. Share stories of the journey you have been on as a church. We would love to come alongside you, listen, and support! What can we do for you as you move forward in the direction of your calling? What resources would help you that we could provide? Thrive is here to listen and to support as you explore your passion as a church!
