At a recent RCA Minnesota Classis meeting Cassie Lokker had an opportunity to speak for a few minutes about disability advocacy.  During the meal break that followed, the classis president and clerk suggested we host a discussion about no-cost options for welcoming people with disabilities.

The group that gathered came up with strategies in five areas for churches to be places where people with disabilities know they belong.  Check out and share the attached document (in PDF or Word format) for ideas related to:

  • Worship
  • Parking
  • Allergies and chemical sensitivities
  • Indoor mobility
  • Respect

What is your church doing to be a place where people with disabilities know they belong? Start a conversation about one or two ideas in this document (and/or your own ideas) in your church!
