These brief videos, produced by M-Powered Planning and Helen Sanderson Associates, reflect on crucial aspects of community and belonging. Though produced for a general audience, they apply well within a church context too.

What is Community? "Community is where you are known, noticed, and missed." - Cara Milne

What does it mean to be person centered? Being person centered is not just for schools and social work. Healthy churches also seek to engage all people in the full life of the church by recognizing and encouraging each person's gifts and ministering with each person at the point of their needs.

What does person centered leadership look like? "The thinking and everyday actions is really what leads to better lives. ... If we want everyone to be person centered, then we leaders have to be person centered in our approach." - Julie Malette

Person centered planning vs. being person centered Being person centered is "getting to know each person ... as individuals and looking at what matters most to them." - Julie Malette

Cara Milne is the Christian Reformed Regional Disability Advocate for Classis Alberta North/Saskatchewan and owner of M-Powered Planning.

Julie Malette is Lead of Helen Sanderson Associates - Canada.
