First, a word about language. People who use wheelchairs are not "wheelchair bound." Saying that sounds like the wheelchair has them tied up, when the opposite is true. For most people, the wheelchair frees them to do a variety of activities they could never otherwise do. (Check out this video of Aaron Fotheringham for an extreme example!) People aren't "bound" by wheelchairs, they "use" wheelchairs. With that out of the way, here are 10 more things not to say to people who use wheelchairs.
