The Disability Concerns conference that was scheduled for April 25 at Community CRC in Kitchener, ON, has been re-imagined in order to ensure the health and safety of our community. We plan to host this event online, in a series of webinars over the course of October. Join us every Thursday in October at 12 pm Eastern.
Be sure to check out our October Caregiver Series Website
Our focus will be "Walking Alongside Caregivers" — navigating the emotional landscape of caregivers and identifying practical ways to support them.
This event will support caregivers who come from all ages and stages of life. Caregivers—who include parents, spouses, children, siblings, and others—are called on to support their loved one in so many ways, and manage so many emotions as they do so. During this series we will walk alongside caregivers and suggest ways for elders, deacons, pastors, care teams, and disability advocates to offer ongoing support and guidance to our caregivers.
Our October Caregiver series includes a line up of speakers with first-hand experience. Join as at 12 noon Eastern for worship followed by a guest speaker that will bring their own unique experience into our ongoing conversation on Caregiving.
Topics include:
October 1: Robin Smart Caregiver Self-Care
October 8: Jack VanderVeer Ambiguous and Complicated Grief
October 15: Brenda DeJong Siblings of People with Disabilities
October 22: Marlene Van Rootselaar Parenting Children and Adults with Disabilities
October 29: Mark Stephenson A Spiritual and Biblical Perspective on Caregiving (this last session will include all past speakers returning Q&A)
Registration: You only need to register once for this event to get access to all 5 weeks in the series. Registration Link
