Intercultural Ministry is excited to announce the launch of the new Intercultural Congregations Network. Launched to foster unity and strengthen God's work across cultures, this network serves as a central hub for CRCNA resources designed to empower congregations as they work to become more intercultural.

In an increasingly diverse Canada, churches are seeking practical ways to not only welcome, but truly integrate and empower people from all backgrounds. The Intercultural Congregations Network steps into this space, providing a space to discuss effective and transformative intercultural engagement.

Jeremiah Bašurić, Co-Senior Leader for Intercultural Ministry says, "We know congregations are eager to grow in this area, and we've gathered and developed practical tools to help them do just that."

The network's equipping efforts are multi-faceted, offering tangible support tailored to the unique contexts of Canadian CRC churches:

  • Expert Intercultural Coaching: One of the core offerings is personalized coaching from trained and passionate leaders. These coaches work directly with congregations, offering guidance, insights, and strategies to navigate the complexities and joys of intercultural ministry. "It's about meeting churches where they are and helping them develop a tailored approach to their specific context," adds Sebastian Maldonado, Co-Senior Leader. "This isn't a one-size-fits-all model; it's about empowering local leaders with the wisdom they need."
  • A Rich Toolbox of Resources: The network provides access to a growing collection of resources, built upon years of experience and best practices in intercultural work within the CRC in Canada. This "toolbox" includes practical guides, learning materials, and insights to help churches understand diverse cultures, overcome barriers, and foster genuine belonging.
  • Collaborative Learning and Connection: Beyond direct resources, the network facilitates connections among churches and leaders across Canada who share a similar calling. This creates a valuable peer-to-peer learning environment where congregations can share experiences, celebrate successes, and collectively discern pathways forward in intercultural ministry.
  • Targeted Events and Training: Members of the network receive invitations to specialized intercultural events, such as the Intercultural Cohort and the Diaspora Leaders Retreat. These gatherings provide deeper training, foster community, and offer opportunities for focused learning and development in key areas of intercultural engagement.

The Intercultural Congregations Network is more than just a registry; it is a dynamic support system designed to enhance the capacity of CRC churches to embody God's love and justice in an increasingly multicultural world. By providing accessible resources, personalized coaching, and a strong community of practice, the network aims to equip every congregation to thrive as a truly intercultural expression of the body of Christ.

If your congregation is seeking to strengthen its intercultural ministry, or if you simply want to better understand and utilize the wealth of CRCNA resources available in this area, the Intercultural Congregations Network is ready to support you.
