Safe Church has been blessed. As we sought additional help with our ongoing work, we decided to employ a summer student intern for 10 hours a week, something new for Safe Church Ministry in 2014. We were blessed with Robin Rhodes, a Calvin Seminary student who was eager to help us out and brought good energy to the work. As it happened, about the time Robin’s summer internship ended, our Safe Church Network Guide made a decision to step down from that position. Robin made a decision to step in; and she has served wonderfully as our Safe Church Network Guide. I especially appreciate the blogs that Robin wrote which reflected her own experience, and brought a valuable perspective that needed to be heard.
In the summer of 2015, Safe Church again employed a summer student intern, another Calvin Seminary Student. We were blessed with Monica Brands, who provided dependable and quick expertise as we updated our website, and followed up with congregations who had ordered Circle of Grace. And as it happened, Robin stepped down from the Network Guide position about the same time that Monica’s summer internship ended. And Monica made a decision to step in to become our new Network Guide. We are thrilled to continue working with her in this new role. So, we say a fond farewell, with prayers and best wishes, to Robin. And we say a warm welcome, with prayers and best wishes, to Monica, our new Safe Church Network Guide.
We hope this doesn’t become a pattern; we’d be happy to keep Monica around awhile. But we’re so thankful for these wonderful student interns/Network Guides. We are truly blessed! It’s our hope that Safe Church Ministry has also been a blessing to them, and that what they’ve gained from their experience with us will go with them into wherever the future leads. And it is also our hope that their work here, on the Safe Church Network and in the work of Safe Church Ministry, will be a blessing to you and to your congregation.
How have you experienced God’s blessing? How have you been a blessing to others? Praise the Lord for the way he provides and blesses us as we seek to be a blessing.
