A few years ago, Syd Hielema and I developed an idea that each classis in North America would have a least one Youth Ministry Champion.

These Champions would be passionate about youth ministry and faith formation within the CRC. Each champion would work to empower and encourage those working on the front lines of congregational youth ministry across Canada and the USA.

Champions would listen, pray, help connect, and serve as a voice on behalf of youth leaders at Classis. Their desire would be to strengthen youth ministry in the CRC through networking, sharing resources, and consulting, thereby reminding churches that we are all in this together as they play a significant role in furthering the Kingdom of God.

So far, we have about 26 people serving as Youth Ministry Champions in the US and Canada.

This podcast looks at the many places of engagement churches, classis, and youth ministry leaders can have with these Champions.
