A visit to www.christianitytoday.com, the online extension of the popular evangelical Christian periodical by the same name, yields a veritable smorgasbord of helpful ministry related resources, including a robust section devoted entirely to church leadership development under a tab entitled Leadership Journal.

The section has been divided into 3 distinct areas of development: Soul, Skills and Culture.

Soul: The first task of any Christian leader is to stay in touch with Christ and, as much as it depends on you, to stay spiritually fit. You'll find food for your soul, and God's strength for your calling.

Skills: Being a leader demands more than good intentions. It means developing the abilities necessary to handle the situations you will encounter. You'll find help for sharpening your skills and improving your ability to serve as a leader.

Culture: The gospel is eternal, but every Christian leader is called to demonstrate and to proclaim that gospel in a particular (and sometime peculiar) context. Understanding your culture is an important part of making disciples of every nation.

The Leadership Journal is also published monthly as a stand-alone print and/or digital publication, available by subscription. Or for those who enjoy the frugal pleasures of free newsletters delivered to your in-box, there is a weekly e-newsletter sent out upon your request that contains many of the gems published in the larger journals.
