In this post you’ll find several good resources to assist with worship planning. More resources are available on The Network or by searching Reformedworship.org by topic.
Lift Up Your Hearts is organized into two sections. Section 1 is The Story of Creation and Redemption, highlighting the biblical narrative from creation to new creation. Section 2 begins with the Opening of Worship section and is organized for the various worship elements found in a worship service such as Praise and Adoration, Confession and Lament, etc. Included is a section on the sacraments. This hymnal not only contains hymns and song, but prayers, scripture texts, litanies and prayers placed in the appropriate worship section. This can be used for congregational worship, as well as small group, family, or devotional worship.
Available in print or e-book versions. This valuable resource for worship planners and pastors includes texts, prayers, and litanies that can be read aloud as well as outlines that can be adapted for your situation. Teaching notes offer guidance for planning each element of the service. Thought-provoking perspectives on the meaning and purpose of worship are great for discussion and reflection. The companion CD contains the entire text of the book for easy cutting and pasting into bulletins, PowerPoint slides, orders of worship, and more.
