Mr. Heerspink worked at Heinz Pickle Factory in Holland, Michigan many years ago. He impressed me when I also worked there for a summer. He was a janitor carrying his mop and pail. At the same time, he was always whistling, humming, and smiling. I'm sure he never got rich swinging his mop and pail, but he was an inspiration to me.

May God help us all to work faithfully for him. Jesus said, "Night is coming when no one can work." 

O Father in heaven, be with us as we do our work each day. Help us to be faithful in it. Give us self-control in our speech and let us be good examples of true humility, so we may glorify you. In Jesus' name, amen.
