In response to Synod 2025’s Overture 4 (“Healthy Pastoral Spouses”), Thrive is pursuing new ways to support Pastors’ Spouses. This year, we’ve decided to expand our Pastors’ Gathering to include spouses. At a reduced registration rate, pastors’ spouses can enjoy 2 nights in Niagara Falls, attend plenary sessions, worship services, spouse-specific breakouts, and even indulge in some alone time!
Registration is open! CRC parish pastors, regional pastors, chaplains, and now spouses are invited to join us October 27-29, 2025, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Be refreshed as you step away from the demands of ministry and life to reflect on your wellbeing, focus on your relationship with God, and learn from Sean Nemecek, author of The Weary Leader’s Guide to Burnout.
Sean is the Executive Director for Pastor-in-Residence Ministries. A graduate of Grand Rapids Theological Seminary (M.Div.), he served as a local church pastor for 18 years. He serves as both a spiritual director and ministry coach — specializing in coaching people through burnout and helping organizations develop an anti-burnout culture. He is all about helping people feel seen, heard, and known in the welcoming presence of our loving God. In his spare time Sean enjoys gardening with his wife, Amy. He also enjoys learning, cooking, woodturning, and cheering for the Chicago Cubs.
Thrive underwrites most of the expenses. The registration fee is $260 until September 22. Spouses can join for an additional $225. These fees cover two hotel nights and most of your meals — beginning with supper on Monday and ending with lunch on Wednesday. You’ll be on your own for supper on Tuesday.
