교회학교 교육부가 해결해야 하는 문제 / Problems With Our Church School Education

우리교회의 교육 프로그램이 가지고 있는 문제들이 많이 있습니다. 

가장 심각한 문제는 우리 자녀들이 대학교에 입학하고 졸업할 때 약 90%의 학생들이 교회을 떠난다는 것입니다. 많은 교회에서, 많은 교역자들은 이 문제를 대학/청년/EM 으로 해결하려고 합니다. 하지만, 문제는 그 전에 있다는 것입니다. 교회의 주일학교에서 자란 학생들이 제대로 신앙교육을 받고 있느냐 하는 것입니다. 학생들이 성경에 대한 지식과 하나님의 대한 지식은 높아지지만 하나님을 개인적으로 알지 못한다는 것입니다. 

주일학교의 목적이 무엇인가를 심각하게 생각할 필요가 있습니다. 지식을 가르치는 것이 목적이면 성공이겠지요. 하지만 지식이 아니고 하나님과 관계가 목적이라면... ?

담임목사들은 교육부에서 무엇을 가르치는지 학생들이 무엇을 배우는지 무관심... 역시 담임목사들의 역할/책임이 너무나 커서 모든 것에 신경을 쓸수는 없겠지만... 과연 목회의 무엇이 중요한가...?

장로들과 집사들... 그리고 부모들도 이런 현실을 그대로 "할 수 없지"하고 있는 것이 문제가 아닌가 생각합니다. 

심각한 문제, 심각한 해결과 심각한 개혁이 필요합니다.

There are some serious problems in our church education program.

The most serious problem is that our children leave the church as they become college students. Studies have shown the 90% leave the church by the time they graduate. Many churches try to "fix" the problem with college and EM programs. However, we must realize that the root of the problem is lies before college. We must ask, are our children getting the right education at church? Our children are learning much about the bible and about God, but they do not have personal relationships with God.

What is the purpose and goal of our church school education? If it is to teach intellectual knowledge about God and Bible, we have succeeded, but if it is help them develop personal relationship with God?

Many Korean senior pastors do not know what is being taught at church school. They are ignorant of what the children are learning. Of course, the role of senior pastor is overwhelming and too great to be on top of all things in church, but we need to consider what is "more/most" important?

Elders, deacons, and even parents accept the reality as "what can we do" attitude. I wonder if this where problem lies?

We have a serious problem ... which require a serious consideration and solution ... even a serious reformation.
