교역자 없이 교육부를 시작할 수 있는가? Starting Education Ministry Without an EM Pastor

대부분의 교회는 영어목회자를 구합니다. 자녀들을 가르칠 교역자들을 원하고 있습니다. 전도사, 목사 상관없이 많은 교회는 이들을 찾고 있습니다. 하지만, 교역자들은 부족합니다. 모든 교회의 필요를 채우려면 십년이 지나도 가능할까요?

하지만, 다른 방법이 있습니다. 교역자를 여러 이유로 구할 수 없는 교회는 교회 안에서 교역자를 키우면 됩니다. 가능할까요? 절대로 가능합니다.

제가 섬기던 교회에서도 교회 안에서 자란 학생들을 키우고 세워 지금까지 잘 섬기고 있습니다. 교회 안에서 세워진 사람들은 교회를 웬만해서 떠나지 않습니다. 외에서 구한 전도사/교역자들의 약점은 힘들거나 어려운일이 생기면 쉽게 떠난다는 것입니다. 하지만, 교회에서 자란자들이 사역을 맡게 되면 이런 걱정이 필요없습니다. 

많은 교회를 다녀보면, 영어권 전도사/교역자들이 없는 교회가 많습니다. 하지만, 모든 교회에 영어를 하는 대학생이나 청년들이 있습니다. 이들은 훈련시켜 드랙더 (Director)로 세우는 것입니다. 신학공부를 하지 않았으니, 전도사나 교역자로 직명할 수는 없지요. 제가 섬기던 교회에서도 인턴으로 시작하여 드랙더로 세우고 나중에 전도사가 되고 목사가 된 사람들이 많이 있습니다.

어떻게 하면 될까요. 이런 일을 돕기 원합니다. 도와 드릴 수 있습니다. 먼저 지 교회의 담임 목사님의 헌신이 필요하고, 훈련 받고 섬기려는 영어권의 청년이 필요합니다. 제정적인 부담도 있지만, 이것은 교회크기에 따라 다릅니다. 관심이 있으시면 연락주세요.

All Korean churches are seeking pastors for children and youth. Many churches are seeking not only pastors, but anyone who is willing to serve. Can we raise and train enough pastors to fill this great need? 

Instead of trying to hire pastors to fill these vacancies, churches can raise their own. In the church that I served, we were not able to find children and youth pastors. We started internship programs and many of these have gone to full-time ministries as pastors and missionaries. In fact, the current youth pastor started as an intern and is now finishing seminary. He's been serving 14 years already. One great benefit of raising "in-house" servants is their loyalty to the church and to the children.

Many churches may not have English speaking pastors, but they all have English speaking young adults. How about training these young people to do the ministry? It can be done and it must be done in many churches. They need training, guidance and coaching and mentoring. It will not be easy, but it is possible.

In order to help local churches to meet the need for English speaking pastors, TEAM Ministry is established. Local churches can contract with TM. The requirements include senior pastors' commitment, English speaking young adults who are willing to be trained. Of course, there will be financial obligation, but that depends on the size of the church. Any church who are interested, please feel free to contact me.
