Gathering 2019 Preparation

Gathering 2019 is not a typical conference or a convention with keynote speakers and presenters. It is a gathering of people from across Canada, those who have not only expressed a willingness to listen to the Spirit for direction for the CRCNA, but specifically for Canada.
Prior preparation is necessary and some 150 men and women are busy reading, viewing, praying, fasting, and memorizing Scripture in preparation. The planning team is working diligently to create opportunities for gatherers to come prepared to share what the Spirit is laying on their hearts.
Regular communication to gatherers is encouraging them to be diligent in their preparation because they, rather than “experts," will be the ones talking about what they have learned and how God is blessing the work of their own church and other churches in their area.
Opportunities to share insights received through such preparation are taking shape. Planned interaction between gatherers from their own classis as well as with others from different classes will provide time for prayer and sharing. Interwoven are times of worship led by Jeremy Benjamin.
Most classes in Canada are planning opportunities for gatherers to share their experiences and suggestions at their annual fall classis meetings later this year. The Gathering planning team anticipates that new or renewed visions for ministry for the churches of the CRC in Canada will arise and churches might be able to consider new or different areas of ministry locally.
Please pray that the Spirit will open the eyes and mold the hearts of the gatherers to discern His will as well as the leadership of the CRC in Canada to be able to design ways of implementing what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
