A brand new study in the Discover Your Bible series will be released mid August, 2015 but you can pre-order it today! Discover Isaiah Chapters 1 through 12 will be available in the well-loved book format but also in a printable version. The printable version offers lots of flexibility and comes in a booklet, binder and large print formats.

For many years, Diane Averill, an experienced Coffee Break leader and trainer, thought  Discover Isaiah would be a great study for Coffee Break and Bible study groups. Yes, the book is challenging but it has many beautiful prophecies and comforting verses.  With team effort, the study came together.  Diane and Brent Averill wrote Discover Isaiah, Chapters 1 through 12.  Betty Wieland helped by reviewing the material and adding valuable contributions. Finally,  Dr. Sarah Schreiber, an Old Testament professor at Calvin Seminary, provided a theological review.

For Diane and Brent, the timing of this project was incredible. As they dug together into the passages and history, they were encouraged and challenged. They wrote application questions that often referred to hope in the midst of trial and began to believe this study would bring comfort to those who were going to study these chapters. Shortly after completing the study, Brent was diagnosed with cancer. They realized that God had prepared them for what they would be facing. Many of the application questions they had written were questions they needed to hear. It gave them hope.

Diane and Brent add, “Our prayer is that this new study will provide comfort and hope to everyone who uses it.”

Discover Isaiah, Chapters 1 through 12 can be ordered through the Faith Alive website in either print or digital. The study has 10 lessons, an updated “How to Study” section, introduction and historical snapshot. The study also includes a new look and a new feature – the conversation box! We inserted extra room and reminders for group participants to add their questions, topics to discuss and ideas for group conversation.
