Sometimes we feel encouraged to reach out to those in our community around us. We may feel called to invite new communities, area refugees, or others, in to Coffee Break. Read on about how one woman set out to scatter seeds of faith in her community, and how we can be encouraged to do the same.

Reaching Out

When a woman from a local church in Grand Rapids felt called to reach out to a neighborhood community of refugees, she took it step by step. She began volunteering in the community and building relationships with teachers and educators in her church. When considering your community, what steps can you take?

Building New Relationships

After connecting with her church, she was able to form a group and begin building relationships. You may find a variety of faiths and beliefs present in your community. Keep an open mind and be creative with different ways of showing Christian love. Clear goals can also help you and your community relate and find common ground.

Share with Others

Leaders are able to lean on each other for support. If you know someone who is gifted in an area and willing to share their wisdom, connect and share with them. Learn and share your own experiences with others to encourage and grow new communities.

Leaders, let's talk! You can meet with others and share your experiences and ideas on the new 'leaders only' Coffee Break Facebook group, Leader Connect. We'd love to listen and talk about how we connect and nurture new growth around us.
