Meet Elaine Lee and Socorro Perez!
In Mexico, the partnership between Coffee Break and healing ministry brings life.
The Lee family works for Christian Reformed World Missions by serving the church, first in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and now starting in Tijuana, Mexico. Abraham and Elaine discovered breaking old habits and ways of thinking is difficult in the Mexican culture. People have deep scars from their past that shape their thoughts and behaviors. The God’s Image seminars that they lead help people look in the “rear view” mirror to understand the pain of the past, experience God’s healing, and move forward with freedom.
The combination of healing seminars and Coffee Break is powerful. Coffee Break is a new tool for exploring and learning the Bible for themselves. This work comes with challenges. The Coffee Break Bible discovery method is completely different from traditional Mexican learning styles. Many who come to groups find it difficult to answer questions and share their ideas.
Soccorro Perez is the new Coffee Break Trainer for the Cuernavaca region. She will be training and supporting Coffee Break leaders and groups. Please pray for her as she begins her work!
