"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Dwight L. Moody once called this verse "the Christian's bank note." The Source of the bank's funds: My God. The promise to pay: "will meet all your needs." The assets: "his glorious riches." Here are assets that can never be exhausted. He will never go bankrupt. God is wealthy and because of Jesus' death, he has "written us in his will!"

A missionary in Congo, Africa was sick. The mission doctor knew what to prescribe, but none of the medicine was available at the mission hospital nor at the government hospital. At the same time another missionary on the station was unpacking a box of items that she had ordered three months before. In the excelsior she found two vials of medicine which she had not ordered.

When she gave them to the doctor, they were exactly what he wanted to treat the sick missionary. The package came from a mail order house in Chicago, Illinois and the medicine was of a type they do not sell. (Heard on the Sunday Breakfast Association broadcast January 12, 1964). Guess who engineered that!

God supplied the needs of the missionary and he will supply ours too! With David we can sing, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I will lack nothing."
