Also,this song was not written by a theologian.

It was written “from a heathen and a pagan” point of view, as stated in the last line. 

We can’t expect it to be theologically sound.

There are many similar examples of these sentiments and observations in songs,books,articles,videos and movies out there.

The question is whether the complaints and criticisms about the churches are accurate.

The churches are the ones who should know better and be theologically sound.

It’s easy to hold a Bible and complain about the world but the world IS the world because it rejects The Word.

Typically,we don’t like it when the world looks at us and complains but will we just reject their criticisms because we can just complain instead that they are not Scriptural or theologically correct?

The world does not know The Truth but they do know lies,fraud and hypocrisy when they encounter it for that is what  they ARE familiar with.

If we were to be more honest to admit,apologize and repent of such carnal hypocrisy as is referred to in this song,we’d all be better off.

Just how Christlike are we?
