Though the number of stories are limited, for age appropriateness for youngest listeners, I like Ella K Lindvall's Read Aloud Bible Stories (in several volumes). In particular these books hit the right words/page ratio for very little children.
What ARE universal social-design principles? Are you talking about a change in attitudes, or does this include actual differences in what or how we do things in regard to events and programs?
This is an interesting application of this Bible story.
Why doesn't your "talk with the other side" suggestion work both ways? Maybe talking with your friend who prefers not to own a killing tool will replace your fear and increase your understanding of them, too? And you are assuming, as many 2nd amendment advocates do, that folks who favor some kind of gun control or otherwise choose not to participate in gun ownership or use, haven't ever used a gun or learned about them.
Actually, John, I think you have to be careful about a focus on the wrongness of sex outside of marriage - then the focus is on the guilt of both parties. A sexual relationship, even one where the young person feels they are "in love", between a young person and an adult church leader is abuse -- a mis-use of power. That leader has ABUSED their position of power and ABUSED the young person sexually. A focus on the wrongness of extramarital sex in general leads to blaming the victim.

What "social ramps" are helpful?
