I am a retired professional counselor in Grand Rapids MI. I worked for 30 years in a Christian college counseling center and became sensitized to issues of violence against women by my work there. In retirement I am continuing to work with nonprofit agencies that work towards the prevention of abuse and provide services to survivors. I am an adamant supporter of the mission and staff of Safe Church Ministry!

I want to offer a word of support for astrmnherbs. Thank you for posting your story. For anyone reading this blog, it validates the awful truth talked about in Karen DeVries's Banner article. You did the right think by reporting the abuse. I am sorry his church isn't facing the truth like your superintendent did. May God help you seek justice and continue to work healing in all facets of your life.
