The problem of sin and temptation is very complex and the "Christian" solution is simply a logical inference that assumes that Jesus had no mental abilities that humans did not have and access to no knowledge that humans did not have and, I suppose, no special directions from the Holy Spirit that, for example, my Guardian Angel could not give to me. The amazing conclusion might be that Jesus might have known he was a prophet but did not know he was God?
Exactly what does "faith formation" mean? In this century, how is it different from a sales pitch? Isn't it the Holy Spirit that "does" "faith formation?"
The organizational rules of the CRC do not encourage study and leadership. For example, in most Baptist-type congregations every elder (called deacons) is expected to be able to preach a sermon and every baptized member is expected to be able to give a testimony "for the hope that is within him." Many CRC members are more familiar with the Catechism than with the Bible and the other two confessions.
For the last several months until the election Americans have been going crazy and nasty over the results of polls which claim to demonstrate statistical evidence of . . . something. Should not the goodness of God also be demonstratable through statistical analysis? It is cheap to say that we can't see God's long term intent. Should we not be able to some kind of trend in the last 2000 (6000?) years?
I do my book shopping and exploring with the dozens of Free Little Libraries that are in walking distance of our condo. Almost every possible subject is available.
I am a senior "senior citizen" and don't want to know what I don't need to know thus I read mostly fiction.
We are shrinking our personal library of books with small print and that our kids will never read. A neighborhood book store accepts all books and gives credit for those they can sell and donates the rest. The credit is used for buying books at half price. They also have a fund to give books to teachers and students the same deal. They get our books that might have some value.

Would anyone out there prefer that the US and Canadian constitutions be amended by a simple majority? If so, why?
It should be very difficult to change the foundation of an organization.

I support missionaries because they do stuff that I don't want to do. I am not a Type 1 personality. More like a 3 or 4.

Didn't St Paul write, "Don't bleed before you are cut?"
