I am a member of the CRC from birth, growing up in the Central Valley of California.
My wife Nancy and I live in Cerritos, California and attend Bethany CRC in Bellflower. My wife grew up in Lakewood, CA and teaches at Valley Christian HS.
I am a semi-retired pharmacist. We are both very invested in the Christian School and our church and desire to be used by God to serve both and the community we live in.

We have been celebrating communion weekly for about the last 18 months. I have been blessed by this practice and believe we have been drawn more closely together as the body of Christ. I very much agree with Calvin's notion of communion being "a bond of love" that ultimately produces mutual love among believers. Indeed, Calvin argued that Communion should be observed whenever the Word is preached, or "at least once a week."

Thanks for your very thoughtful and heartfelt comments regarding 2022 Synod! I agree that our unity as a denomination and also as individual congregations is indeed being threatened, as we fall on one side or the other of various denominational issues, including the human sexuality report. We need to do a "heart check" when we have conversations with those who strongly oppose Synod's decision. We need to pray fervently that God will hold us together as we seek to live out our faith in a very broken world.
