Hello, Network community!

I'm Sarah Gibes, the new Content and Community Manager here at The Network. Originally from rural southwestern Wisconsin and suburban Chicago, I graduated from Calvin University in 2022 with degrees in English, German, and Biochemistry. While at Calvin, I worked in local church ministry, mentored students interested in careers in ministry, and wrote and edited for the student newspaper, the Chimes. After graduation, I packed my bags and spent the 2022-2023 school year teaching English to secondary school students in Salzburg, Austria, where I saw most of the filming locations of The Sound of Music, worked in the shadow of Nonnberg Abbey, and hiked through many of Austria's beautiful Alps.

I was drawn to the Network because of its potential to help build and support ministry work all across the world. It hosts over 10 years' worth of ministry material and experience, which is wonderful. In addition, it provides a space for ongoing dialog about critical concerns for Christian ministry in the 21st century. Yet there's always room for growth. What topics should the Network focus on? What's missing? Who should the Network reach, and what new perspectives, issues, and ideas can the Network showcase?

I'm excited to serve the CRC and other church ministries through the Network. If you ever have questions, ideas for blog posts, or any concerns, please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome Sarah! We are so glad to have you here. I look forward to seeing the Network community thrive under your leadership. Oh, and nice pic of Austria.

Welcome! Wow - was the teaching position with the Fulbright program? I did that program nearly *ahem* 30 years ago near Vienna.
