The reports of the following synodical study committee and task forces, to be addressed by Synod 2021, are available for your consideration and study: Committee to Articulate a Foundation-laying Biblical Theology of Human Sexuality, Ecclesiastical Marriage Task Force, and Study of Bivocationality Task Force.

The reports are posted for easy access by CRC members on the Synod Resources webpage at crcna.org/SynodResources (see direct links below). Each report is also accompanied by an Executive Summary, available in English, Korean, and Spanish. If you are unable to download the documents, your church may request a printed copy of the full reports free of charge (limit one per church, please)—contact Faith Alive Christian Resources at 1-800-333-8300. The reports will also be included in the printed Agenda for Synod 2021 and considered by the delegates to synod.

Councils are invited and encouraged to review and carefully study the reports. If any council wishes to respond to matters within the reports and to have that response considered by Synod 2021, they may do so by way of overture or communication to synod (see Rules for Synodical Procedure, pp. 9-11). An overture or communication first needs to be processed through the council and then through the classis, after which it should be submitted to the Synodical Services Office no later than March 15, 2021, to be included in the printed Agenda for Synod

The reports of the Committee to Articulate a Foundation-laying Biblical Theology of Human Sexuality, the Ecclesiastical Marriage Task Force, and the Study of Bivocationality Task Force address important issues before the church in our current context of representing Christ in this hurting world. Your council has the opportunity to reflect on the times in which we now live out ministry together. We trust that the Lord’s blessing will rest on our deliberations as we consider these matters.
