This was the third webinar of the 2021 Series: On Being a Safe Church! In these webinars, we have been hearing from a variety of people that are inspiring us to wonder together at how best we can create healthy and safe cultures in our congregations and communities.

Our guest speaker was Dr. Scot Mcknight, author of A Church Called Tov: Forming a Goodness Culture that Resists Abuses of Power and Promotes Healing and we had his co-author Laura Barringer join us as well!

Are you interested in a book study on A Church Called TOV? Safe Church is hosting a virtual study for five weeks on Monday evenings starting September 27th, find out more information and register here!

Dr. Scot Mcknight is the author of The Jesus Creed, Blue Parakeet, numerous bible commentaries and most recently, The Church Called Tov. Scot is a professor and theologian, currently on faculty at Northern Seminary as the Chair of New Testament.

In The Church Called Tov, Dr. Mcknight and Laura Barringer explore the concept of Tov (Hebrew word in scripture used for “good”), and how that word provides a map for the Church can go from where we are to where we should be as the body of Christ; a place that creates cultures that resist abuses of power and promotes healing, safety, and spiritual growth.
