"Pray continually." I Thessalonians 5:17

So we pray and we teach our children to pray.

Here are prayers we prayed with our children at mealtime:

God is great. God is good
And we thank him for our food.
From his hand we must be fed;
Give us Lord our daily bread. Amen.

Be present at our table, Lord,
Be here and everywhere adored.
Thy creatures bless and grant that we
May feast in Paradise with Thee. Amen.

We thank Thee Lord, for this our food,
But more because of Jesus' blood.
Let manna to our souls be given:
The Bread of Life sent down from heaven. Amen.

(We sang these last two to the tune of the Old Hundredth by Louis Bourgeois)

Here are two evening prayers at bedtime:

Now the light has gone away.
Father, listen while I pray
Asking You to watch and keep
and to send me quiet sleep.

Jesus, Savior, wash away
All that has been wrong today.
Help me every day to be
good and gentle, more like Thee. Amen.
