As the number of major natural disasters seems to be increasing, more churches are finding themselves either directly affected or close to areas that were. The days of "It won't happen to us" are quickly turning into, "It actually could happen to us." Is your church and your congregation prepared? This webinar will help you assess the types of disasters to which your community is most vulnerable, help your members make personal and family plans, tell you how to reduce the risks of suffering loss, give suggestions for taking advantage of ministry opportunities following a disaster and you'll also hear what churches on the road to recovery have learned.

Our presenter:  Bill Adams, Director of World Renew Disaster Response Services, spent the first 30 years of his career working in business, holding the position of Vice President of the Metal Services Division of United States Can Company prior to retiring in 1999.  He then turned his attention to the non-profit world in 2003, joining World Renew. During his tenure, largely as a result of the severity of disasters in the last decade, the program has grown significantly in terms of volunteer involvement and communities in which World Renew provides services.  He served on National VOAD’s (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) Board of Directors from 2005 to 2011 (President from 2008-10).  He's also been serving on the Board of the Foods Resource Bank since 2003, and was elected Chair in 2010.
