di·as·po·ra [/dīˈaspərə/]
noun
plural noun: diasporas
"the diaspora of boat people from Asia"
Our world is changing. There are many people moving around the world – some 264 million people. This presents a new opportunity and challenge to our churches and to Resonate Global Mission. We want to let the Spirit lead us into these new opportunities as we continue to be faithful to Jesus’ commission to go and make disciples among all of the nations.
Friendship is the practice that we have settled on. We want to encourage inter-religious and inter-cultural friendships in our communities and neighborhoods. To help kick start this new initiative of building friendships we are hosting a consultation in Montreal in collaboration with our partner Christian Direction. The consultation will take place June 17-19 and will involve around 50 practitioners who are involved in diaspora ministry, including international students, refugees, migrant workers, and long term immigrants.
Your prayers for this consultation are much appreciated. For more information on diaspora ministries please contact [email protected].
