Jesus told him, "Go, and do likewise." Luke 10:37

These words are the "bottom line" of Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan.

Some years ago, my brother Dale and his family decided to help a refugee family from Vietnam. Actually, five people were just part of a family. The rest of the family was still in a refugee camp. These people feared for their lives if they stayed in Vietnam under the Communist regime.

His house was "bulging." Food bills jumped. There were line-ups for the bathroom. There was transporting them to English classes and looking for employment. One time when we were there, Dale said, "These have been the most rewarding weeks of my life."

If we keep our eyes and ears open, God gives us many opportunities to be a neighbor. It will mean having a flexible schedule and budget.
