The Evangelical Environmental Network, the National Association of Evangelicals and the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference have the exciting opportunity to select up to 60 churches to receive support and funding to make their buildings' energy efficient, and reducing their monthly utility bills by up to 30 percent, and saving thousands of dollars annually that can then be used for other needs such as missions and evangelism. You have the first opportunity to be selected!
EEN, NAE, and NHCLC are launching, GIVER (Green Initiative for eVangelical Environmental Renewal) promoting energy efficiency, and creating a healthier world. They are pleased to be able to access the expertise of the Department of Energy and the Energy Star Program, utilizing the best and most knowledgeable practices.
The first phase is a pilot program that will take place immediately, focused on two geographic areas: Upper Midwest (MN, MI, WI, OH, IN, IL) and the South (GA, AL, MS, LA, FL,TX).

Great info, Terry. Thanks for sharing this. The form looks easy enough, so I'm going to apply for my church and see what happens.
Note: The deadline for submission is November 15, 2010.
Cool. I just got an email saying we've made it to the next round in the selection process. It didn't say how many other churches were in this round, but I'm hopeful.
Thanks so much, Terry, for posting this on The Network!
