New Faces in Chaplaincy: August 2021

My name is Timothy Kimbel. After completing nearly 20 years of service in the Michigan Army National Guard, I am answering God’s call to military chaplaincy. My military experiences and training at Calvin Theological Seminary have prepared me to connect well with soldiers and command teams.
Military families face challenges that require special consideration such as deployment separation, formation transitions, frequent moves, intense demand, and many physical and mental health issues. God has given me a heart for this population.
In my civilian career, I served as the operations manager and vice-president of Star City IBA, Inc., a dairy farm supply distributor in Michigan’s lower peninsula. My calling church, Lake City CRC, my wife Jamie (17 years), and my eight children have been a tremendous support for me as I have prepared for this new chapter of my life. In my unscheduled time, I enjoy downhill skiing and fishing with my children.
Read more about Tim and the extraordinary journey he has taken into a career in ministry in this news article from the CRCNA.
