Where do you start, what do you do, and how do you provide care and feeding for the body of Christ? How do we do our best for the churches that God has given us charge over? This webinar is designed to help elders do the tasks described in the forms for officebearers (and many of the principles also apply to deacons as well). Pastors who want to maximize their ministry through the care and feeding of the local congregation can use these principles in their own council devotion/team building.
Our presenter: Paul Hansen is the Pastor of First CRC in Artesia, CA and recently presented on this topic at the Dordt Day of Encouragement. He's been a pastor in both the RCA and CRC for over 30 years. He is a survivor of numerous Councils in both denominations and has served in both Pacific NW and Heartland Classes. Most of the ideas he shares about serving as an elder were developed by one of the best Pastors in his experience, Karl Overbeek (retired RCA) who wrote a study guide about it. The other great practitioner of Pastoral ministry from whom he learned a great deal is Pastor Barry Blankers (retired CRC).
