Looking for a Lent devotional? Here are some great options (two of which are FREE to CRC members via the Digital Library).

  1. Through Tears to Joy by Stan Mast

During the Lenten season, walk with Jesus as he makes his way down the Via Dolorosa—the Way of Sorrows. Reflect on the meaning of Jesus' suffering and the meaning of suffering in the world. Follow Jesus on his journey, and see how he transforms sorrow into joy. These  daily devotions are excellent for personal or congregational use.

  2. Journey to the Cross: A 40-Day Lenten Devotional by Paul David Tripp

In this forty-day Lenten devotional, Paul David Tripp invites us to set aside time from the busyness of our lives to focus on the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus. Each of the short readings encourages us to abide in the abundant joy found in Christ as we encounter the Savior more fully and follow him more faithfully during this Lenten season.

  3. Forty by Kory Plockmeyer

This Lenten devotional explores the biblical motif of "forty" through the stories of Noah, Moses, the exodus, Elijah, and Jonah. All of these narratives foreshadow the gospel—they are reminders of Easter morning in light of the "forties" that have come before. In Jesus we find the answer to Noah's rainbow, the living Word of Moses, the true deliverance for God's people from their desert wanderings, the voice of God walking the earth, and salvation for all people of every nation.

  4. Uncovering the Love of Jesus: A Lent Devotional by Asheritah Ciuciu

Reclaim the Lenten season with 40 devotionals that reveal the deep love of Jesus that's exhibited at the cross and tomb. Each daily reflection looks at Jesus’ personal interactions in Scripture and leads you in meditation on a new aspect of His love. Don’t let Easter pass by this year. Reflect, engage, and be transformed as you uncover the love of Jesus and learn to love your neighbor as He would. Includes optional family activities to help you celebrate Jesus' together.
