Synod 2026 overwhelmingly adopted Resonate Global Mission’s Ten-Year Strategic Plan for Church Planting, and the first movement of the plan is a call to prayer and fasting called Project Antioch. As pastors, you are invited to pray with Prayer Shepherd Jon Hoekema and General Secretary Zach King.
“As we see in this text, it was in the context of worship, prayer, and fasting that God’s call came to the leaders in Antioch. Through concerted and intentional times of worship, prayer, and fasting, the church received guidance from the Holy Spirit for mission—particularly the sending out of Paul and Barnabas (Acts 13:1-3). After receiving guidance, the church continued in worship, prayer, and fasting, followed by the laying on of hands and the sending out of those commissioned (Paul and Barnabas). Acts 13 shows that prayer is a catalyst for mission and the launching of new works of evangelism, including the work of church planting. Inspired by this text, we are calling this “Project Antioch”—in which we recognize the importance of laying an intentional foundation of prayer and fasting for this CRCNA church planting strategic plan.” (Acts of Synod 2026, pp. 516-517)
These virtual, 30-minute prayer sessions are on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. Eastern (12:00 a.m. Central, 11:00 a.m. Mountain, 10:00 a.m. Pacific). Interpretation services will be provided on request.
