Rebecca, if you’re still looking for ideas there’s a series that my last church used called Network: The Right People…in the Right Places…for the Right Reasons. We did it as part of an adult Christian education class and it was life-changing. There’s also a revised version available. Even without the DVDs the particpant's guide has got some great information.
Posted in: Pastor of Congregational Culture: Your New Role in Youth Ministry
Great post, Marc! I hope that the questions you're asking stir up some prayerful reflection in those who have an opportunity to shift their church culture in the right direction.

Great blog, Josh! Thanks for sharing your thoughts (and the great suggestion at the end) on this important topic.

Posted in: Church Signs: What Do They REALLY Say?
When I'm away in another city, I like to see Sunday service times listed on church signs. This should be a natural extension of church hospitality to make it easy for visitors, people who're looking for a new church home, and/or the person who's been away from the church for awhile, to see the times when they can attend a worship service.

I've heard it said that "God offends the mind to reveal the heart" (and I've found it to be true). I saw myself right there with you in this story. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks so much for sharing this and giving us all something to reflect on. It reminds me of 2 Cor. 12:9.

Another resource that's available on the topic of moral injury and "soul repair" is this webinar recording (which includes slides and a handout) called "Helping Veterans Suffering Moral Injury After War."
Posted in: Finding Intergenerational Community in the Church Book Club
Great post, Shannon! I think sometimes we try too hard to make intergenerational ministry happen. Yours is a great example of the organic nature of how God works in our midst when we aren't even trying to make things happen.

Thanks for the suggestion. We've made the change.
