Dee, was one of the first people I met when I started working for the CRCNA 20 years ago. We shared (and continue to share) a love of chocolate. She made me feel welcome and helped me get settled in those early months. She's worked very hard for many years. May retirement be sweet, my friend!

Thanks for taking the time to write this Dan. Your research will benefit many churches who are wondering about this very topic.

Rob, our office (Pastor Church Resources) has created a training tool on pastor evaluations. You can access a copy here   https://network.crcna.org/sites/default/files/documents/Evaluation_Essentials_Congregational_Leaders.pdf    or you can order free hard copies from Faith Alive 800-333-8300 M-F, 8:00-5:00 EST (the only cost is for shipping and handling). You'll find some sample evaluations in the appendices section. I hope this is helpful.  Lis Van Harten

How great that you can share your wonderful SCE project with so many - and have your final report do double duty!

Thanks for this terrific article Jill! How wonderful that your church allows you to be you and to choose which gifts you'll share in its ministry. From my work with pastors' spouses over the past ten years, I can say that what you have is quite rare. Too many churches still have a mold into which pastor's wives are expected to fit. The same isn't true for pastor's husbands - which is great for them!

Hopefully more congregations will make a shift in what they expect of a pastor's wife, and will be much more aware of the demands put on the pastor which impacts his/her life in significant ways - not all of which are good nor healthy.

Pastor Church Resources

Hi Leon,

We have a great resource for that. "Evaluation Essentials for Congregational Leaders" You can find a PDF of it here or, if you'd like hard copies (for only the cost of shipping), you can get them from Faith Alive 800-333-8300 or [email protected]

Hope that helps!

Lis

Thanks for sharing this most encouraging post! Hopefully you'll receive inquiries about what GR East is up to. :)

Salesforce is a great tool and can really help folks in ministry in a number of ways. I want to comment on the fee noted - $12 per user. In the CRCNA head offices we've just begun using SalesForce. It's true a non-profit with a 501(c)((3) can obtain 10 free licenses. However, if you don't have a 501(c)(3), the cost is $150 per user per month. We just checked into this as we needed the number to present at our training.

We want to hear from you.
