We still print bulletins and believe we should for those who don't have computers or smartphones.  Having said that I think another question to ask is what is included in our bulletins.

"Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:4-7  Those verses became my personal theme.  With all that is going on it is easy to become discouraged, and overwhelmed.  Found that as long as I remember that the Lord is near, and He has things in control I can rejoice in His love.

I find I go back to the classic, "How Great Thou Art."  Find there are few songs that say as much as that one does.

Some time ago someone suggested I read "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand.  The true story of an Olympian's journey from Airman to Castaway to Captive.  Typically I don't enjoy storied from the wars but this one was amazing.  It is such a clear picture of Gods involvement in our lives even when we don't realize it.  And that got me to reading again.

I just finished "Tisha" by Robert Specht.  A wonderful true love story of a young teacher in the Alaskan wilderness.  It certainly gives a picture of what life was like in days gone past.

Now I just started reading "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah.  True stories from a South African childhood.  It tells quite the story of life during and after apartheid.

It is also a beautiful example of the impact our words can have on someone else.  I doubt Arnie ever thought of the impact his words made, if he remembered sharing at all.  Just a reminder if God whispers to us to share we should listen.  It can change someone's life.

Love it that the church family is willing to be vulnerable and therefore realize the power of prayer.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.  2 Timothy 1:7

One time when I felt I was in over my head the Lord gave me this verse through a devotional on my phone.  It was just the encouragement I needed and will lean on it in the year to come.
