Roger, Generally I liked your comment, but I have one clarification to make. The minority report's pastoral advice walks a line on the issue of members in same-sex marriages. According to the report, "there may be situations where two individuals married in a civil same-sex marriage could be fully consistent with CRC teaching" (Agenda 2016, 439). I think that they are imagining a situation where a couple in a same-sex marriage come to faith in Christ and want to join the church. Yet, for those who are already Christian the position is different. "A Christian person - or a current member of a [CRC] church - entering into [a same-sex marriage] would...be in conflict with the church's teaching on marriage" (Agenda 2016, p.439). Moving past 'uncertainty' requires clarity. So, I hope this helps.
