The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and the Canadian Council of Churches (both of which the CRCNA is a member) urges Canadians to pray for de-escalation and peace between Ukraine and Russia. In doing so we join other international evangelical groups such as the World Evangelical Alliance and the European Evangelical Alliance.

The European Evangelical Alliance "calls upon Christians to pray for all who suffer and for those who have the power to save lives, bring humanitarian aid and protection. And let us pray for all those with the power to stop the war and to bring about long-term peace."

The World Evangelical Alliance and European Evangelical Alliance "call on the global Christian community to pray for peace in Ukraine."

Both groups are also "condemning the violation of international law by Russia and calling for an immediate end to the attacks on Ukraine."

I am glad this is being distributed to help inform prayers and conversation about the elements of building peace for Ukraine.   I wonder why the story does not mention the Canadian Council of Churches, the primary leader of this initiative, of which the CRC in Canada is also a member.  We owe credit and appreciation to the Council for the careful analysis, thoughtful articulation, and bringing together a very wide range of Christian leaders - not just evangelicals - to join together in prayers for peace.
