I promise: this is not one of Jim’s pranks. Think Christian has really published an ebook on A Theology of The Office. And you can get it for free.
The ubiquity of the beloved sitcom—which ran from 2005 to 2013 on NBC and has found new life as one of the most-watched shows on Netflix—is one reason we at Think Christian decided to take on this project. Our ministry celebrates the ways pop-culture fandom resonates with the Christian faith, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to reach fans of the show with the good news of the gospel.
Another reason we published the ebook is that The Office has proven to be fertile ground for theological reflection. TC’s talented group of writers consider, for instance, the ways the show’s inherent awkwardness gives us an opportunity to exercise kindness, a fruit of the Spirit. They also ask if the irrepressible joy of Kelly Kapoor might be reflective of our joy in Christ. And they wonder if there is a way to redeem even everyday spaces like mundane cubicle farms and Chili’s restaurants.
Our Theology of The Office ebook is yours for free when you subscribe to receive Think Christian articles in your inbox. About three times a week, we write about the latest films, TV shows, music, video games, and more from a distinctly Reformed perspective. This year, we also launched the Think Christian podcast. Subscribe to receive our emails and download your ebook here. And please do share that link with any Office fans you know.
