Thrive (Worship) is hosting a virtual fall book group to discuss Alexander Schmemann's For the Life of the World.  Ruth Ann Schuringa and Rod Snaterse will lead a two-part conversation on this essay coming from the Orthodox perspective that encourages curiosity and fresh eyes on the church and its worship. This is not a "how to" book for worship leaders, but instead a pastoral foundational for how the worship of the Church is integrally connected to its mission. Schmemman says, "...the mission of the Church begins in the liturgy...for it alone makes possible the liturgy of mission" (pp. 46).
