Might you have a format for congregational newsletters? We are hoping to publish one monthly and I really don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Thank you!

Hi LaRue,

Are you planning on printing these, having them be online only, or both? I'm not sure what programs you use already, but you can put together email newsletters using sites like MailChimp.

For newsletters that are more printer-friendly, you can create templates in Canva or Microsoft Publisher. Either program should have sample templates you can try out.

So when you click on New in Publisher, in the search templates tabs you can type in Newsletter. There's a few options in there if you would like to look at those.

Alternatively, you can set up a free account on Canva's website and look at their newsletter templates for inspiration.

I'm not sure what kind of content you plan to put in, but we send out a weekly newsletter that contains a calendar for the week, announcements, birthdays etc. All in Microsoft Word. I can send you ours as an example if you want to post your email?

Personally when I started I used the WORD format, and it is pretty good.  Publisher is far better though because you can move things around easier.  I switched to Publisher for my weekly bulletins as well.

If you would like me to send you a copy please email me your request at [email protected]

I love Canva! It’s free for non-profits. You just apply on the website and upload your 501 (c) 3 exemption, or the articles of incorporation. I believe the bylaws work too. You can create anything on  canva. It’s also quick and simple if you need to electronicallly sign a document. One day I probably downloaded 3 different apps, created accounts, for it to cost an arm and a leg. I didn’t even think about Canva.
