I love reading missionary newsletters, as you can probably tell. Last week I posted about a church that was started out of a literacy class meeting underneath a tree in Uganda. This week, I’d like to share with you some words of wisdom from Gil Suh, who works with Christian Reformed World Missions in Cambodia.
CRWM is developing Transformational Networks, and he had this to say after a meeting in Nicaragua at the Nehemiah Center:
“We believe the gospel changes everything—every area of our life and society. God through Christ intends to redeem and transform everything. And His church is the gospel agent for the transformation of individuals and families and also of work places, communities and the wider culture,” said Suh.
“Unfortunately many churches lack such a holistic vision or practices, falling into the extreme of either separatism or secularism. Now there is a renewed movement worldwide to rediscover and fulfill the vision of the whole gospel to the whole life. We want the Cambodian church, although small and young, to catch the vision and be a part of the movement. Recent conversations with church leaders and missionaries confirmed that it’s about time to collaborate and network more based on the common vision and trusting relationship. This will take much patience, wisdom and long-term investment from all sides.”
