Planned Giving is what we call gifts other than cash- this might mean stocks, bonds, IRA gifts, gifts-in-kind, or gifts from an estate or will. Around 15% of people who create wills include a charitable gift within their estate plan*. People in your church may be making estate plans that may (or may not) include your ministry. Many organizations, universities and charities are now accepting planned gifts. You can make sure you're ready for a planned gift with a "Confidential Gift/Bequest Intention Form".
I've included a sample attached to this article for you to use as an example, but if you have questions about how you can encourage planned giving to your ministry, please reach out to the Ministry Support Center Planned Giving Team.
